Sexual Misconduct Liability Coalition
Sexual Misconduct claims and suits may be the biggest nuclear threat to providers and insurers that the industry has ever seen. Nine figure verdicts are common, and 10-figure verdicts are looming. The reputational impact is likely greater than the malpractice impact. But there currently is no legislation, regulation, or standards to offer guidance to providers and their organizations.
So, CRICO's Patient Safety team took the initiative to form a coalition of academic medical centers, health systems and insurers to proactively address this challenge. The group meets virtually on a regular basis with the aim is to share and learn from each other and generate ideas and best practices for reporting, surveillance, chaperones, credentialing, and key metrics.
CIO Forum
The proliferation of artificial intelligence and IT innovation has accelerated data security and legal concerns at a dizzying rate. To help stay on top of this environment, CRICO and Candello members have created a CIO Forum for CIOs and CISOs to share openly the ideas and efforts they are taking on:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption and governance
- Cybersecurity risks and regulatory pressures
- Data protection, privacy, and LLM safeguards
- Vendor selection and technology experimentation
The group has adopted Chatham House Rule, a system used in meetings to allow open, honest talk, in which participants can use the ideas and facts they hear, but they cannot say who spoke or name the group the speaker works for.
