Kimberly Cano serves as a Clinical Taxonomy Specialist within the Candello division. In this role, Ms. Cano reviews and analyzes medical malpractice claims, identifies areas of risk and opportunities for improvement initiatives, creates comprehensive clinical narratives and assigns applicable code sets using Candello’s proprietary Clinical Coding Taxonomy.
Kim began her career as a Certified Clinical Nuclear Medicine Technologist where she was responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to a varied patient population for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures. Following graduate school, Kimberly transitioned from patient care to healthcare management and consulting. She has held numerous positions within consulting firms and hospital systems and has over 20 years of experience in Medical Malpractice Claims Analysis, Hospital Corporate Compliance, Billing/Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management. Kimberly received her Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Buffalo and a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from Cornell University.
