Monique Mondestin serves as a Clinical Taxonomy Specialist within the Candello division. In this role, Ms. Mondestin reviews and analyzes medical malpractice claims, identifies areas of risk and opportunities for improvement initiatives, creates comprehensive clinical narratives, and assigns applicable code sets using Candello’s proprietary Clinical Coding Taxonomy.

Monique began her career as a registered nurse where she provided quality, evidence-based patient-centered care to pediatric patients and their families. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including inpatient pediatric Med/Surg, pediatric/adolescent primary care, pediatric/adult urgent care, plastic & reconstructive surgery, and nursing education in both classroom and clinical areas with traditional, accelerated and master’s level nursing students. Monique has also served for many years as a nurse surveyor in the Patient Safety Department at CRICO where she conducted office practice evaluations, performed detailed medical record reviews, and wrote comprehensive reports identifying areas of risk and providing recommendations for improvement.  Most recently, she participated in the Primary Care Service Line Risk Assessments (PC SLRA) which aids organizations in risk identification and efficiently prioritizing interventions.

Monique received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Northeastern University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Cambridge College and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in clinical nurse leadership from Curry College.  She holds certifications in maternal-child health, pediatric nursing, and clinical nurse leadership.
