Boston, MA—August 9, 2023—The Insurance Marketing and Communications Association (IMCA) Showcase Awards recognized Candello (CRICO’s national data collaborative and a division of the organization) for its exceptional efforts to educate and support health care professionals as they navigate the myriad challenges of telehealth care delivery.

The educational video series was produced through a collaborative effort between Candello, CRICO’s Communications and Patient Safety divisions, and Candello's member organization, TDC Group. Submitted for consideration to IMCA, their annual conference serves as a platform for insurance marketing and communications professionals to exchange ideas, explore industry trends, and recognize outstanding achievements. This year’s event brought together industry leaders and innovators from around the world, showcasing the very best in insurance marketing and communications. Our video series was among the top recipients:

Candello and TDC Group united to explore the primary challenges facing clinicians during virtual visits, capturing guidance and practice management tips from risk management experts. The five-part video series is intended to help improve virtual care for all through shared, commonly relatable experiences. The video series also leverages information previously published in CRICO’s Patient Safety Guidance for the Virtual Visit and Interoperable Telehealth: Patient Safety Considerations, published by The Doctors Company (part of TDC Group).

Modules address considerations for clinical, equity, legal, and technical matters, plus managing the unexpected. Each video is introduced by a dramatized vignette highlighting examples of what NOT to do. Patients join a telehealth visit in a grocery store, attempt to show a leg rash via a faulty camera, encounter language barriers, and experience various technology challenges known to occur during virtual visits.

“In our ongoing effort to support CRICO’s mission to protect providers and promote safety, we explore various channels to capture the attention of clinicians and guide them toward solutions that might prevent or mitigate medical error,” said Missy Padoll, Director of Marketing and Communications for CRICO. “In this video series, we intentionally combined humorous dramatizations with expert advice in this video series to reach the broadest audience. Receipt of this Gold Award confirms the perceived value of our approach.”

The series is available to the general public via CRICO Video.
