San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Boston—August 23, 2023—SIMED has rolled out a new technology platform for its insured physicians, in partnership with the Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard medical institutions and its malpractice data collaborative, Candello. Through a mobile app (o quizá usar through an online platform), SIMED policy holders and members of the medical community can access SIMED and Candello content, with expertise from Puerto Rico and across the U.S.

SIMED has been in partnership with Candello since 2017, submitting coded malpractice data securely to the Candello database along with other medical malpractice insurers in America. Combined, more than one-third of all open and closed malpractice cases in the U.S. are in the Candello database. SIMED and others use advanced tools and methods to analyze this data for its insureds, to identify risks and opportunities to improve care and enhance patient safety.
