David L. Feldman, MD, MBA, CPE, FAAPL, FACS is a consultant for Candello. In this role David helps the Candello client team understand from the client’s perspective how to best align their work with the needs and priorities of clients. He will also work in a sales capacity to help grow the client base, data volume, and the reach of Candello.

David is a national figure in the MPL space. A plastic surgeon by profession, he first joined the Candello community in 2015 as the Chief Medical Officer for then-FOJP (now Healthcare Risk Advisors, a Doctors Company subsidiary), the captive MPL insurer for several prominent New York City teaching hospitals. David became CMO for The Doctors Company when FOJP was acquired by TDC, until his departure from TDC in August of 2023. As a member of the Candello Community, David was a prominent voice among members, a prolific user of the data and tools, and a very active community participant who challenged the Candello team to continue to evolve and increase the value of the data and its learnings.

What gets me excited about my work?
While malpractice is still thankfully an unusual event relative the amount of care delivered in this country, having aggregate data in the Candello database allows us to dive deep into the causes of lawsuits. The opportunity to work with like-minded clinicians and risk managers in addressing these issues is an honor, knowing it will lead to better patient care and clinical outcomes.

On the weekends, you’ll find me...
I’m currently loving spending time with two new grandchildren, and their parents of course! I’m an avid swimmer and love listening to contemporary jazz. My wife and I also try to play golf now and then.
